This wide ranging interview with UCI ‘CORAL KEEPER’ Professor Joleah Lamb delves into her Lamb Lab, the dangers of scuba diving in a down current, ocean gyres and the mammoth garbage patch of plastic. She was recently featured in the BBC documentary ‘Drowning in Plastic’. In April 2020, Professor Lamb was elected as an Early Career Fellow by the Ecological Society of America. Her lab’s work is critical as the ocean and corals are attacked by pollution on many fronts. She is a leader in her field.

UCI Health Psychologist Dr. Alison Holman has studied the effects of wide-spread media coverage during a crisis, including 911 and the Boston Marathon bombings. COVID-19 has many similarities. She also champions the role of nurses telling students, “Never, never underestimate the power of your experience working with patients, and what nurses have to offer. Nursing brings to health research a valuable and unique perspective born of hours at the bedside working with patients compared with the perspectives of other health professionals”....
