Professor Dennin is not only the Vice Provost for Teaching & Learning, but also the Dean of the Division of Undergraduate Education. He retraces his steps from growing up with a college professor dad to himself becoming a physics & astronomy professor...and the challenges of going from a teacher to an administrative leader on campus. He is enthusiastic and FUN!

Professor Mark Steyvers from the UCI School of Social Science works in the field of cognitive science and computers. Today he talks from New York City about having just completed the NYC marathon. He shares his goals, training, disappointment and fulfillment at having completed the 26.2 mile race in the Big Apple.

Bill Maurer, Dean of the School of Social Science

Dean Bill Maurer oversees the largest school at UCI. The School of Social Science contains eight different departments from Chicano/Latino Studies to Logic & Philosophy. His expertise is in the area of financial anthropology. Today, he walks us through UCI's Social Science departments and continues on to financial anthropolgy, which includes the upcoming blockchain conference.

Ivan Williams, UCI Alumni, Advisory Board Member & TV/Film Producer

After graduating with an MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business and 3 decades in the oil & gas business, Ivan has started a new career in the TV/Film industry. He is also applying his extensive business background as an advisor to several boards at UCI. Today, Ivan talks about his just released feature independent film, 'MFA' and his other activities.

Chancellor's Professor of Computer Science Michael Franz takes us on a fascinating and important look inside computers and how to effectively secure your data. His answer is 'moving target defense' which encrypt the application just enough to create a barrier. Computer security is a top priority these days and UCI is working on a solution in the Franz lab.

Doug Tully & Nick Franks, UCI Outdoor Adventure Specialists

Doug Tully, UCI Outdoor Adventures Coordinator and Nick Franks, UCI Outdoor Student Trip Leader know a thing or two about having FUN. They organize and lead students on trips to Joshua Tree, the Hollywood sign, camping in San Clemente, and closer to home the climbing wall in the ARC-Anteater Recreational Center. Here they share stories about these student adventures.

Josette Marrero, UCI Alumni & NASA Ames Atmospheric Scientist

Dr Josette Marrero graduated from UCI in 2015 after spending 6 years as an Anteater. She honed her atmospheric science expertise in the Rowland/Blake Chemistry Lab and now applies her acknowledge at NASA Ames on the Atmospheric Alpha Jet Experiment Project.
