Professor David Card is a 2021 Nobel Laureate in Economics. He teaches at UC Berkeley, but received his Nobel Medal at UCI's Beckman Institute due to COVIC protocols. At the end of 2022 he will go to Stockholm for the official ceremony. According to UCI Economics Professor Dan Bogart, "David Card is HUGE! He had a huge impact on economics period". Listen in as Chemistry Professor Emeritus Everly Fleischer takes us on an amazing career ride starting as a student in the 1950’s at Yale. After graduation he heads to the University of Chicago, teaching in the wild 1960’s and living next to Hyde Park. He then comes for brand new UCI, does chemistry research and starts taking on administrative positions such as department chair and then Dean of Physical Sciences. His next move takes him to Boulder, CO for one of the coolest jobs ever…and about a decade later he ends up at UC Riverside as an executive vice chancellor. Wow! Astronomy Professor Paul Robertson explores our incredible Milky Way Galaxy and beyond. His research looks for planets outside of our solar system, in the “Goldilocks Zone”, where life is most likely to be found. HIs love and fascination with the cosmos began at 10 years old and has never stopped. Today, his work includes “wobbling stars”, the color spectrum of heat and encouraging students to be uncomfortable in their area of study (that’s how you learn). This is a WOW interview :)
